Get on Board Nonprofit Board Training Program
Are you interested in developing leadership skills while learning to govern one of our area's nonprofit agencies? Many nonprofit organizations working hard to improve our region are facing enormous challenges and are seeking energetic, talented and qualified leaders to help them achieve their mission.
Get on Board provides insights into the complexities and challenges of making an all-volunteer entity (the Board) highly functioning, including effectively interacting with the staff that is paid to accomplish the mission of the organization. Participants of the program will walk away with a clear understanding of the responsibilities and interplay of the various elements of well-run nonprofit organizations (board and staff roles, oversight and implementation, planning for and preparing for the future, development of adequate resources to do the job at hand).
The Junior League of New Orleans is pleased to offer Get on Board, either over two consecutive Saturdays or five consecutive Wednesdays (see below), that focuses on training volunteers for nonprofit board leadership positions.
