Leaders of nonprofit organizations must maximize resources, fundraise, plan for sustainability, and strategically partner for success. Many nonprofit organizations working hard to improve our region are facing enormous challenges and are seeking energetic, talented, and qualified leaders to help them achieve their mission.
Started in 2008, Get on Board is a single day workshop providing knowledge and skills to current board members, non-profit staff or those wishing to serve on a non-profit board.
Through engaging presentations from nonprofit experts and interactive role-playing, participants learn a board member’s responsibilities and how these responsibilities relate to others within the organization. Get on Board workshop topics include:
- financial policies and fiduciary duties
- legal considerations
- meeting and committee management
- strategic planning
- effective leadership development
Participants will gain increased competence and confidence to develop and maintain a well-run nonprofit organization. Speakers’ and Panelists’ bios can be found here.
The next Get on Board session will take place on Saturday, February 27, 2021. The schedule for the session can be found here.
Get on Board 2021 is a hybrid event. Attendees can attend in-person or remotely via Zoom. In-person attendees will receive extra perks such as breakfast, lunch, and the ability to interact and create relationships with presenters, sponsors and other attendees at the event. All attendees will walk away from the training with the tools to serve on a non-profit board knowledgeably and effectively, making them an asset to the organization they choose to serve.
